Wally the Airstream

Our super fun, totally outfitted, completely restored vintage airstream is a great way to experience our little slice of paradise. “Wally” is named after his creator, Wallace Merle “Wally” Byam, the founder of Airstream Inc. (1896-1962) Byam was a leader in developing both a romance and enthusiasm associated with the automobile and recreational vehicle culture. We are delighted to have an original Wally Byam airstream at the ranch and you will love it too!

  • 22′ ft long & 8′ wide
  • Full size bed, sleeps two adults under 6 ft. tall.
  • The indoor dining table can convert into a twin size bed.
  • There is a full kitchen with a propane stove & oven next to a nice size sink that looks out the window to the beautiful ocean.
  • We supply a large cooler on your deck, so pick up ice in Kawaihae on your way to the ranch.
  • There is a full size propane BBQ grill on your deck.
  • Just off your deck, is the bath house with a normal size flush toilette and piping hot water for your ocean view showers.
  • Two beach chairs, two beach towels and two shower towels are provided.
  • There is no Wifi or Cell Service is available at Wally. We encourage you to unplug and relax. You can use the Wifi in the common covered area just a short walk from your camp site.
  • You do have electric indoor lights in the evenings and we provide a lantern for use both inside and outdoors.
  • There is a dining table and chaise lounge on your deck and an oversized hammock in the shade.
  • Small camp fires are allowed when we are not in dry season.
  • Wally sits under an old tree and gets some shade. There are lots of windows all around the trailer to let in the ocean breezes. No A/C.

Oversize suitcase are not recommended. Collapsible duffels that can be folded up and stored will allow you more interior space.

Normal Rate: $120 (2 night min.)

Holiday [12/20-1/4]: $150 (2 night min.)

  • Your hosts live on site and are available to assist you with anything you may need during your stay.
  • All rates INCLUDE full use of the ranch gardens, fruit trees, fresh organic eggs, live orchid arrangements, eco friendly dish & laundry soaps and bed linen changed with every 7 confirmed nights. WiFi access is available throughout the ranch.
  • Pre-arrival kitchen stocking is available for: $60.00 + actual costs of items.
  • A departure cleaning fee of $200.00 is added to all room reservations.
  • Daily Housekeeping is not included in your stay. You may request your bungalow to be refreshed during your stay for an additional $40 per visit. House keeping will replace towels and refresh your bungalow. Refreshing includes vacuum, make beds, clean bathroom sinks and tub, wipe down kitchen counter tops, remove rubbish, sweep exterior deck space. Bed linen’s will be changed on the 6th night of stays over 8 nights. Housekeeping visits between 10-3. Should you need anything additional during your stay, just let us know. We are here to make sure you have a wonderful stay with us.
  • We don’t charge for superfast wifi or telephone, and of course there’s no charge to park your car– that’s just ridiculous. Each bungalow is equipped with iPod dock and speaker system, as well as HDTV cable. DVD player or XBox/Wii available upon request.
  • * Rates are in US Dollars based per night, and subject to a 13.4% government tax.
  • Cancellations: Because of our small size, cancellations affect us significantly. For any cancellation or change of dates, we must receive 60 days notice prior to your confirmed arrival for a refund of your deposit, less a $100.00 service charge If any full or partial cancellation or change of dates is made within 60 days, regardless of the reason, you are financially responsible for the entire reservation, unless we can re-book your cottage. However, you are always welcome to send a friend or family member in your place. For a 14+ day stay, a 90-day cancellation period applies. Early departures will not be refunded for any unused days.
  • Travel Insurance: We realize that cancellations are often beyond your personal control. For this reason we recommend purchasing travel insurance for peace of mind. The Puakea Ranch will be happy to supply your travel insurance company with any needed documentation regarding our policy and your reservation.   • Personal Concierge Service: Printed and emailed schedules of events with detailed maps with contact information as well as reminder and wake up calls can be included as part of the concierge service. We understand your time is precious.
